ADD Resources, the first choice for quality ADHD information

sunFounded in 1993, Attention Deficit Disorder Resources (ADD Resources) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run mostly by adult volunteers with ADHD. We are dedicated to supporting, educating and serving as a resource for people with ADHD.

Attention Deficit Disorder Resources maintains an educational website, a bookstore, and a lending library with over 450 titles of ADHD books, audiotapes and videos. We publish a monthly eNews, the 8-page ADDult ADDvice quarterly newsletter, the 138-page Adult ADD Reader, and an outstanding collection of articles for adults and parents by national ADHD authorities as well as adults with ADHD.

We run three monthly support groups for adults with ADHD: one in Olympia, one in Tacoma and one in Seattle. We also run two monthly support groups for parents of children with ADHD: one in Tacoma and one on Mercer Island. ADD Resources presents special events including workshops for teachers, and ADHD adults; as well as annual conferences. We provide speakers on ADHD when requested.

Our Mission

The mission of Attention Deficit Disorder Resources is to help people with ADHD achieve their full potential through education, support and networking opportunities.

Our Vision

We serve and educate individuals with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, those who interact with them and the community. As our resources and educational services expand, they will be made available throughout the country through technology. We will maintain a primary focus on building community among those who come to us, and we will create a support fund to assure that limited finances are not a barrier to receiving services.

We will, as an organization, create partnerships and collaborations for providing more effective services and resources. Throughout all our growth we will maintain quality in all that we do. Our board will exemplify the best in nonprofit governance, and we will maintain financial independence from all special interests.

Our Executive Director

Francinne Lawrence, MRE, MSW, LICSW is a well–seasoned professional with 25 years experience working with non–profit organizations serving persons with mental illness and their families. While Francinne has worked with charitable agencies and faith–based initiatives on the national, state, and local levels, her involvement with Attention Deficit Disorder Resources is especially gratifying because it allows her to combine her professional work with her personal experiences.

As a parent and former spouse to persons with ADHD, Francinne knows first hand, the challenges that face not only the individual with the diagnosis, but their loved ones. Francinne is an Alumnus of The University of Maryland Graduate School of Social Work and The Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary at Wake Forest, N.C. Francinne has employed her skills as an adjunct professor at Louisiana State University Graduate School of Social Work where she taught non–profit management and group facilitation. An advocate by nature, Francinne has enjoyed her involvement with Federal and State advocacy campaigns affecting mental health systems reform.

Francinne happily resides with her husband in Maple Valley, WA. She is the mother of three spirited and diverse young women who are in college preparing for their own careers. Francinne is an avid swimmer and lover of nature. She enjoys getting together with her daughters for adventures in the wild outdoors and long slow walks with her aged Australian Shepherd.

Our Past Executive Director

What's Cynthia Hammer Doing Now?

On December 31, 2007, after 15 years at the helm, I spent my last day as Director of Attention Deficit Disorder Resources and started my new career as an ADHD Coach. I feel well prepared to be an excellent coach because I

  • Have a Master's Degree in Social Work.
  • Am being mentored by master ADHD coaches Sandy Maynard and Nancy Ratey.
  • Have talked with numerous people with ADHD concerns over the past 15 years
  • Have attended numerous workshops and conferences on ADHD and read many ADHD books.
  • Have lived, and thrived, with my own ADHD for 64 years

Because I am starting a new career, my initial fee structure is $60/hr or fraction thereof. Call me for a consultation around a particular issue or set up a series of scheduled appointments.

At your request, our coaching sessions can be recorded so you can listen to them again at your computer or download to an MP3 player. I also offer teleconferencing, where both you and I use webcams so our images appear on each other's computer screen as we talk on the phone.

If you want to get started, because I am still an intern coach, I am happy to coach my first 5 clients for just $50/mo but you must make a 3 month commitment. give me a call at 253-238-0729. You may also visit my website at www.cynthiahammer.com .

We all at ADDR congratulate and support Cynthia as she enters her new career.
