Cynthia Hammer Distinguished Service Award

The Cynthia Hammer Distinguished Service Award was established in honor of Attention deficit Disorder Resource's founder, and current Executive Director, Cynthia Hammer. The award was first presented to Ms. Hammer in fall 2006 and will be thereafter known as the Cynthia Hammer Distinguished Service Award.

Some of you know individuals who have made significant contributions to Attention Deficit Disorder Resources over the past year. We encourage you to nominate one of those outstanding individuals.

Nominations for this award are accepted by email only. Please make sure to describe how the person nominated meets or exceeds the award criteria given below. Make sure to include your full name and contact information (including email address and telephone number) as the person making the nomination.

Also, make sure to clearly identify the full name and contact information for the nominee (including email address and telephone number and home or professional address—if possible). All nomination information should be included in the body of your email message. No attachments please. Please keep text of email to a maximum of two typed pages. Nominations should be emailed to Todd Henry, no later than midnight, August 30, 2007. The recipient of the award will receive a plaque at the October 13, 2007 conference in Tukwila, Washington. Following the conference, the recipient will be announced on the website of Attention Deficit Disorder Resources.

A committee of the Board will review nominations in September, before making a final recommendation to the full Board.

Selection criteria for the Cynthia Hammer Distinguished Service Aware

To receive the award, the nominee must meet all of the criteria below:

  • Served as an volunteer, board member, committee member or staff member within the past 12 months
  • Advanced the mission, vision and aims of ADD Resources
  • Demonstrated exemplary leadership
  • Facilitated meaningful change within ADD Resources organization
  • Significantly contributed to ADHD awareness
  • Helped enhance the lives of persons with ADHD and/or their family members through activity within ADD Resources
