Sam Goldstein, Ph.D.

Sunday Morning: Risk, Resilience, and ADHD: Understanding the condition and the forces that shape positive life outcome for children and adults with ADHD
(open to everyone)

In this multimedia presentation, Dr. Goldstein will provide an overview of the most current theories and science concerning the symptoms, impairments and theoretical underpinnings that comprise the ADHD condition. Using a combination of video clips, writing, and drawing samples, Dr. Goldstein will weave a solid foundation to help participants appreciate the means by which ADHD acts as a catalyst leading to so many developmental, emotional, and behavioral risks. Dr. Goldstein will also provide an overview of the emerging resilience literature describing the strategies, ideas and behaviors of resilient individuals. A model will be proposed suggesting that the best way of treating ADHD throughout the life span is to combine symptom reducing interventions with resilience strategies.

In this presentation directed at clinical professionals, Dr. Goldstein will provide an overview of current research concerning evaluation and treatment in ADHD with a particular focus on complex, comorbid presentations.
