Thankfully the nice folks at Stardock have created a free utility to replace the logon screen with any wallpaper you choose.

I'm using the author information encoded in the JPG files where available for proper credit. A few are also in widescreen format. I think the current version of LogonStudio Vista will actually apply these versions on wide screens (if not, look in your Windows\Web\Wallpapers folder and add them manually).10/10
