Domain User Takes Long Time To Login

Sep 05, 2019 · We just added our first 2 windows 10 machines into the network replacing Windiws 7 units. One machine of the 2, has a fast initial logon to the domain, but after a reboot, the logon gets a slow welcome and then just a black screen for at least 10 minutes, maybe longer, before the users desktop appears.

Occasionally, logging into a Windows domain can take a long time. We’re talking 5 to 15 minute intervals here, and it’s annoying as all get out. It can be a hair-pulling, annoying and frustrating game just to diagnose properly. Fortunately, the solution is often straightforward.

So for a while we have had the issue where the computers that are connected to the domain are taking an unusually long time to login to the domain (around 2-3 minutes). We have checked the DNS Settings on the workstations and they are correct.
