Dropbox Login Client

So a client invited me to her dropbox using the same email I use for my paid 2tb account. when I received the invite I was given two options 1) combine files or 2) keep accounts separate. My first reaction was to go for "keep things separate" but nowhere within the next prompt did it asked me to login with my existent account.
