Students in the 4th–6th Grade Talent Search who took the PSAT 8/9 will receive their scores in the mail in mid- to late-April. The report will come from College Board, not Duke TIP, so be on the look-out for an envelope with their logo.

The 7th Grade Talent Search is an entry point to TIP’s support, resources, and community. At a crucial time when they are forming their identities and looking ahead to the future, students receive benefits that help them learn about their academic strengths, discover new interests, find essential advice, and connect with advanced educational programs.

WELCOME TO DUKE TIP'S ONLINE ENROLLMENT FOR 7th Grade Talent Search (INDEPENDENT TESTER). You have indicated that your student will register (or has registered) for the ACT or SAT independently and directly with ACT or SAT.

By joining the 4th–6th Grade Talent Search, students gain access to TIP’s support, resources, and community. Enrichment activities, optional testing, and other benefits help participants discover their talents, develop essential skills, and take pride in their accomplishments.

TIP participants have proven that they excel on grade-level exams—but how far above grade level are they actually performing? That’s a question only an above-grade-level test can answer, which is why ACT or SAT testing is built in to the 7th Grade Talent Search.

WELCOME TO DUKE TIP'S ONLINE ENROLLMENT SYSTEM. Duke TIP welcomes students who wish to join the Duke TIP family even if they are not able to participate in our annual 7th Grade Talent Search. This independent enrollment method is called TIP Option.

Students qualify for the 7th Grade Talent Search by scoring at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test. Enrollment provides benefits that last through the end of high school, including the opportunity to take the ACT or SAT, specialized publications, college prep advice, and access to educational programs.

Every 4th–6th Grade Talent Search student receives a personalized merit certificate. We also provide schools the tools to recognize their Duke TIP talent search participants at a local level. Educational programs. Our educational programs for fourth, fifth, and sixth graders are only open to students enrolled in the 4th–6th Grade Talent Search.
