Go to your Security and Login Settings by clicking in the top-right corner of Facebook and clicking Settings. Click Security and Login on the left. Go to Get alerts about unrecognized logins and click Edit. Choose where you want to receive your alerts, such as from your email account or with a Facebook notification from a recognized device.

Whenever you log into your account from a new device, it will ask you to verify that device via a text message sent to your phone. This works per application too, meaning if you log into facebook on your phone via Chrome browser, it will be a different login to the Facebook app - so you'll need to verify twice!
