The Jackson County Friend of the Court (FOC) is an adjunct of the Circuit Court, with primary responsibilities for enforcement of the Court's orders regarding custody, parenting time and the support of minor children.

Due to the unprecedented public health crisis, the Michigan Supreme Court has ordered all courts to limit activity to only essential functions. Per the Michigan Supreme Court order, the Friend of the Court will be closed as of 5:00 pm March 19th, 2020 and all staff members will be sent home.

The Friend of the Court Bureau analyzes statistics; reviews laws, regulations, and court rules; and reviews grievances and responses to provide guidelines for friend of the court operations.
