Ftp User Cannot Login

I dug around the interwebs quite a while trying to figure this out. Low and behold IIS allows me to add an IIS user as an FTP user. NOPE. You have to add a windows domain user and then specify that user in your FTP Authorization rules...

The user may not be have access to the home directory. Go to “IIS > FTP site > FTP User Isolation”. Select the directory that your users can access. More information about User Isolation settings; IIS may not be configured to use passive mode FTP.

May 10, 2012 · I don't even have the 'FTP Server' node. I have instead a node called 'FTP Publishing' and under this node I have 'FTP Service' but no 'FTP Extensibility'. If the lack of FTP Extensibility service is the problem then I am going to be unable to solve my problem if I can't install it. Does anyone have any ideas on this? Kind Regards, Matt.

Solution: Note: (This solution is for MS-FTP Server only) This problem occurs when the home directory of the Default FTP site does not exist, or the user does not have Read permission on the home directory. Set Read permission on Default FTP Site and give Everyone Read permission on default FTP path.
