Jul 15, 2017 · For Greater Anglia smartcards, you only need to touch in/out at barriers. This applies to Greater Anglia smartcards only (Great Northern smart cards require you to touch in/out everytime. Unbarriered GN stations have smartcard validators. GA unbarriered stations outside of London don't have smartcard validators, so you can't touch in/out anyway!)

Greater Anglia has cut down the time it takes for commuters to buy and collect a smart season ticket with a further upgrade of its ticket buying app. The Greater Anglia app was upgraded earlier this year to offer ‘Remote Ticket Download’ on Android devices and has now been further improved to include iPhones.
