Now that you are already in the workgroup, all you need is to login locally using a local computer account.If you can't remmember the password which is your case, then you viable option is to re image/ reinstall windows on the laptop.

The only issue with going from domain to workgroup is you are now logging in with local accounts and you don't have access to the domain profiles on the local drive which is why you can't logon. This is why you set the administrator account to a password you know before you make the change.
