Florida Newborn Screening Login

The Florida Department of Health, Newborn Screening Program, is pleased to announce that beginning May 1, 2018, all newborns screened will be tested for Pompe Disease (POMPE) and Mucopolysaccharidosis Type I (MPS I). The Florida Newborn Screening Program released a web application for requesting laboratory results, Florida Newborn Screening Results (FNSR). The FNSR system is designed to provide newborn screening lab reports of babies, and offers an instantaneous 24x7x365 method for receiving Newborn Screening lab reports. FNSR contains lab reports for 2 years.

Newborn Screening services in Florida are jointly funded through billing Medicaid and private insurance for the newborn screening tests and a $15.00 fee paid by birthing facilities for each live birth. Florida Newborn Screening does not bill families without insurance coverage.

Requirements for Newborn Screening Samples. All infants born in Florida must have a valid newborn screening specimen collected on the DOH 677 Florida specimen card. For newborns that are not in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the requirement for collection is at least 24 hours of age.

How is Newborn Screening Paid for in ­­Florida? Newborn Screening services in Florida are jointly funded through a $15.00 fee paid by birthing facilities for each live birth and the billing of the newborn screening tests performed by the Florida Newborn Screening Laboratory.
